Newland, the developer of Hollyhock, is a national leader
Did you know that Newland, the developer of Hollyhock, is the largest private developer of planned residential and urban mixed-use communities in the United States?
Newland is currently developing communities in 14 states across the nation, and the DFW Metroplex is one of the company’s most active and successful markets. In addition to Hollyhock, Newland is developing the 1,200-acre Canyon Falls community in Flower Mound and Northlake, and has acquired 729 acres of land for a third community in the Dallas area.
Newland's success and commitment to sustainable development in Dallas and other cities is one reason why Green Home Builder magazine named Newland as its Developer of the Year for 2016.
“Long before the sustainable fad overtook the housing industry, Newland was already putting a great deal of importance on creating long-term sustainable developments,” the magazine’s editors wrote in a profile of Newland and the green practices it has implemented in more than 40 communities over a 45-year track record.
The article continues: “For decades, they have sought ways to protect and restore the land they are developing. By preserving or improving wetlands and areas of natural topography, they protect the rich history and traditions that inherently belong to it. Developing land and integrating them within the community plan ensures healthy living opportunities for both future residents and the environment.”
