Downstairs media rooms for family togetherness
In both of its two-story model homes in Hollyhock, Highland Homes spotlights a growing trend in today’s new homes: downstairs media rooms.
For years, it was common for builders to place media rooms upstairs, away from the main living areas. In recent years, homebuyers have been voicing preferences for media rooms located next to those hubs of family activity – the kitchen and family room. Customer-savvy builders, including Highland, have listened.
“In every model we’ve built with the downstairs media room, homebuyers have loved it,” said Gonzalo Romero, vice president of architecture for Highland Homes. “This layout really encourages family togetherness for movie nights and game day. Even at breakfast, it’s great to watch the morning news in surround sound.”
