New hospitals adding more healthcare options in Frisco
Frisco has an A+ overall grade on Niche.com’s Best Places to Live list, and that includes an A grade for Health & Fitness. With two more new hospitals planned to open soon in Frisco, that grade should be even higher on the next list. Here’s a quick guide to healthcare facilities already open and coming soon near Hollyhock.
Medical City Frisco
Medical City Frisco is a world-class, 54-bed acute care hospital offering a wide range of services including adult and pediatric surgery, cardiac care, orthopedics, robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery, imaging and emergency services. With $41 recently invested in capital improvements, Medical City Frisco is Silver LEED certified for environmental and energy efficiency.
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco
Located near Hollyhock at 5601 Warren Parkway, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco is a distinctive facility known for its patient-centered “culture of care.” This 68-bed hospital offers a women’s center, an urgent care center in Frisco’s Sports Village, a newly opened sleep lab, advanced robotic surgical technology, and a newly appointed emergency department. Baylor Scott & White is also opening a Sports Therapy & Research Center at The Star in Frisco in 2018, in partnership with the Dallas Cowboys.
Texas Health Frisco – opening 2019
Planned to open in the fall of 2019, Texas Health Frisco will be a 325,000-square-foot, 74-bed acute-care facility with a 24/7 emergency room, surgical services, women’s services and a neonatal intensive care unit. A 120,000-square-foot medical office building, a 90,000-square-foot clinic and parking garage are also planned for this comprehensive health campus. This 20-acre campus is being created in partnership with UT Southwestern, and it will include extensions of the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute.
Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children – opening 2018
This newest location of the world-renowned Texas Scottish Rite orthopedic hospital is planned to open in the fall of 2018, with a five-story hospital building surrounded by playgrounds and walking paths for the community to enjoy. Located near Frisco High School, this facility will be part of a new 40-acre campus treating orthopedic conditions, sports injuries and related arthritic and neurological disorders.
