Get crafty with AR Workshop at our Get Your Frisco On festival
For three Saturdays in April and May, Hollyhock will showcase music, makers, food trucks and more from Frisco and beyond in our second annual Get Your Frisco On. Festival dates are April 6, April 27, and May 18, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. each day.
Two events will feature the makers from Frisco’s own AR Workshop, who will transform Hollyhock’s Fields House into a festive workshop where you can take your home décor and creative skills to the next level.
On Saturday, April 6, AR Workshop will lead a Canvas Pillow Making Workshop where participants will make their own 18 x 18 canvas pillow to take home, choosing colors and graphics to match their personalities and decors.
On Saturday, May 18, AR Workshop will return for the final day of Get Your Frisco On, inspiring participants to create their own round signs or Lazy Susans that are sure to become family treasures.
Spots are all full for the class on April 6 but you can RSVP for the sign making class on April 18. Both workshops are free, but space is limited.
AR Workshop Frisco is a dream come true for owner Lindsay Childress.
At a young age, she discovered her penchant for sales and eye for design. It all began when she was the top cookie seller in her Girl Scout troop, and continued as she mastered layouts and custom hand lettering as a high school yearbook editor.
In college, Lindsay managed a pottery-painting studio before setting off into a 15-year career in retail, where she designed and sold licensed tees to major retailers across the country.
Despite her professional success, Lindsay longed for more creativity. As she grew her career, she kept her design and painting hobbies alive through volunteer work and crafting with her two children. When Lindsay first experienced AR Workshop in New Jersey, she discovered what she was looking for all along, and she was inspired to open her own AR Workshop location in Frisco.
Come meet Lindsay and her talented team of “craftinistas” at Get Your Frisco On!
Get Your Frisco On will also feature a whiskey tasting and mixology workshop on April 27, with Sourced Craft Cocktails of Dallas.
Other festivities include live music, food trucks, lawn games, kids’ activities and giveaway each weekend of Get Your Frisco On.
