New Frisco ISD elementary school to open in Hollyhock in 2021
A new Frisco ISD elementary school is planned to open in Hollyhock in August 2021, following the district’s announcement that it is accelerating its construction timetable for the new campus.
The school will be located northeast of FM 423 and Rockhill Parkway, on a Hollyhock site purchased by Frisco ISD from Newland.
Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2020, and the campus is planned to open in August 2021, in time for the 2021-22 school year. Frisco ISD has said that it will create attendance zones for the new school in fall 2020.
For now, the school is known as Elementary School #43, and the district is welcoming name suggestions from members of the Frisco ISD community. Please email Susan Dye at DyeSu@friscoisd.org with a name suggestion and the rationale behind it.
FISD plans to use a modified version of a previous elementary school design for the new Hollyhock school, making changes to create more open and flexible spaces, which are ideal for collaboration and active learning.
Earlier this year, Newland sold a second school site in Hollyhock to Frisco ISD for potential future middle school and high school. While Frisco ISD owns these school sites in Hollyhock, the district has not announced any definite plans for construction.
Hollyhock is proud to be part of highly regarded Frisco ISD, ranked among the top 1% of public school districts in Texas by Niche.
