Frisco is No. 1 real estate market in Texas, No. 3 in U.S.
Hollyhock’s hometown of Frisco has come out on top of another national study, ranking as the No. 1 Best Real Estate Market in Texas. Nationwide, Frisco ranks an impressive No. 3 in the study, conducted by WalletHub, a personal finance website.
The study analyzed 300 cities across the U.S. for 24 key indicators of housing market attractiveness and economic strength. The dataset included indicators such as home value forecast, median home-price appreciation, average number of days until a house is sold, and share of young homes (referring to houses built between 2010 and 2018).
Frisco is No. 3 in the U.S. in the overall rankings, surpassed only by Boise and Seattle. Frisco is one of three Texas cities in the top 10, with Austin in seventh place and Denton coming in ninth.
The report includes a subranking for each city’s Affordability & Economic Environment, a measure of indicators such as health infrastructure, population and job growth rates, and median credit score. Frisco ranks No. 1 in the U.S. in this subranking.
Notably, Frisco ranks first for job growth rate, first for population growth rate, and second for lowest foreclosure rate.
“This year, the housing market is in a unique situation as mortgage rates have hit record lows at a time when many Americans are struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” notes financial writer Adam McCann, whose article accompanies the study. “For those who have extra cash, buying a home now could be a golden opportunity.”
