Four exciting things coming soon near Hollyhock

Hollyhock’s hometown of Frisco is booming. In fact, Frisco was the fastest-growing U.S. city during the past decade. We’ve blogged about all the new shopping and other commercial development that’s recently opened or coming soon in Frisco, especially along the U.S. 380 corridor.

In this blog, we take a look at four exciting recreational, healthcare and educational amenities coming soon near our location. This is truly Frisco’s moment to shine!

Monarch View Park – Located less than two miles from Hollyhock, at Teel Parkway and Panther Creek Parkway, this new 13-acre city park will open in 2021. With Frisco located in the annual migration path for the monarch butterfly, this park will help sustain these beautiful black-and-orange insects, with native plants such as milkweed, the main food source for monarch caterpillars. In addition to restoring native Blackland Prairie habitat, Monarch View Park will include areas for activities such as soccer, picnicking and flying kites. It will also offer a playground and trails.

Frisco ISD High School No. 12 – An official name has not been selected for this new school, but we like to think of it as “Hollyhock’s high school.” Now under development and planned to open in 2022, this school is located adjacent to Hollyhock and PGA Frisco, at Teel Parkway and Dakotah Road. Designed with input from Frisco ISD architecture students, it will have a “Texas modern” design with flexible learning areas, a central commons, strong interior and exterior connections, and outdoor learning environments. A third-floor library will overlook the commons and the courtyard, which was designed with art students in mind.

PGA Frisco – We’ve blogged a lot about PGA Frisco, our 660-acre next-door neighbor, opening in early 2022. Called the “Silicon Valley of Golf,” PGA Frisco will have two championship golf courses, a 500-room Omni Resort, an entertainment district, parks and trails. The campus will also include a four-story PGA headquarters building that will initially house about 150 corporate employees. The PGA is also partnering with Frisco ISD to provide golf training and play opportunities for students.

University of North Texas – Frisco – Located at Panther Creek Parkway and Preston Road, UNT’s Frisco campus is now under construction, with the first classes planned to start in 2023. Sitting on 100 acres donated to UNT, this new campus will serve at least 5,000 students in upper-level and graduate courses. The first phase will include an academic building, a nature pavilion, and a footbridge linking the campus to an incoming mixed-use development. About half of the site is planned to remain in a green natural state.

See what else has recently opened or is coming soon near Hollyhock’s unbeatable Frisco location.
