See the new Frisco parks coming next to Hollyhock

Hollyhock residents enjoy amenities such as Fields House, Fields Park, Dandelion Park and miles of trails right inside the community. Coming soon, residents will enjoy even more nearby recreational opportunities, including a new City of Frisco park opening right at Hollyhock’s doorstep.

The city recently announced Frisco On the Green as the name for a new 3-acre park to be developed at the southwest corner of Rockhill Parkway and Teel Parkway, immediately adjacent to Hollyhock. The name was inspired by Hollyhock’s next-door neighbor, PGA Frisco, which is also planned to include public parks and trails when it opens in 2022.

Master-planning with public input is already under way for Frisco On the Greek Park. Based on the thoughtful and creative ideas that have gone into some of the newest Frisco parks, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for Hollyhock’s neighboring park.

Another new Frisco park coming soon is Monarch View Park, opening this spring. This 13-acre park is located at Teel Parkway and Panther Creek Parkway, less than 3 miles from Hollyhock. Inspired by the Monarch butterfly, which migrates through North Texas, this park will include a native wildflower prairie designed to attract these beautiful insects and native Texas birds. The park’s design mimics the Monarch’s migration pattern, and will include public art, a playground, a multi-use court and walking trails.

Hollyhock is also adjacent to Northwest Community Park, home to the DORBA (Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association) Mountain Bike Trails. This park currently offers about 5 miles of completed trails open to cyclists, runners and hikers. Public input is also underway to help shape the future of this overall 164-acre park.
